Botulinum toxin type A is a neurotoxin that reduces the release of acetylcholine from the sympathetic nerve fibers that innervate the sweat glands. When injected into the skin of the armpits, palms or foot, botulinum toxin suppresses perspiration for about 8-12 months. Only one procedure is needed to treat sweating with botulinum toxin. The procedure takes no more than 30 minutes in duration. Botulinum toxin of group A carefully and for a long time blocks muscle impulses, forcing the sweat glands to produce a natural secretion: sweating is reduced to a minimum; no negative impact on the body; the skin stays dry even in the most exciting moments.
The use of a 20% solution of aluminum chloride hexahydrate in pure ethyl alcohol is indicated for external therapy of excessive sweating in the armpits, on the skin of the palms and foot; these drugs are available with a prescription.
